We are a "Modern Mercantile" with 3 buildings, 2 businesses, and 1 location in downtown Concordia, KS. This business was started over 25 years ago by my mom, and I took over the fabric store in 2005. Mom and I still sew and quilt together whenever we can!
Our sister store Essentials specializes in gluten-free foods, natural vitamins and homeopathic remedies, cards, books, candles, and gifts. All three buildings are inter-connected, so you can shop all three stores without going outside! Be sure to visit our Christmas Essentials loft! Out motto is, "It's all Essential, isn't it!"  Location Fabric Essentials is located only 50 miles from the Geographic Center of the US - in Kansas, the heartland of the USA, and home of "The Wizard of OZ"! State Animal is the Buffalo. State Bird is the Meadowlark. State Reptile is the Ornate Box Turtle. State Flower is the Sunflower (that's why we stock so much Sunflower fabric). State Song is "Home on the Range".
