Vintage Aprons!

Rebecca Ruth Designs - These vintage aprons are some of the best we've seen. I remember my Grandma Lola and Aunt Gladys wearing aprons like this in the kitchen. These also look spectacular in batik!

Our own Miss Hannah models her new Easter Dress!  The original pattern in teal and browns.
Two colorful variations in pink and yellow.

Girls 2T - 14 This sun dress is cute enough for a party, and comfortable enough for play. You'll love how fast this dress comes together. Make it with or without pockets, and with a thin or wide band on the skirt. Kaffe Fasset and other colorful prints work well for this pattern.

Pattern Backs

New Feature on our Website!

One of our core beliefs is that we should make your online shopping experience as close as possible to the experience of shopping in our store.

When you go to a store and see a pattern, what is the first thing you do? You pick up the pattern and turn it over to see the backside. What does it take to make this pattern? How many yards? What notions?

However, most online stores only show you the front of the pattern! How can you be sure you are interested in the pattern if you can't see the backside?

Here's an example of what you will see on the Fabric Essentials website. To find out more, click here.

Dr. Seuss PJs

The Nelson Family at Christmas!

Marlene made matching PJs from Dr. Seuss Flannel and cut up a Dr. Seuss panel to decorate the T-shirt tops! What a CUTE idea!
KWIK Sew Patterns #3126 and #3793 were used for the PJ bottoms.

If you've made something from a KWIK Sew pattern, please send us a picture to post!
What have you been reading lately?
Marsha: I re-read "Quilt Inspirations from Africa" (for the 5th time!). I never fail to be inspired by this book. I've been looking through the "Aunt Grace Scrapbag", which showcases all of the Aunt Grace reproductions designed by Judie Rothermel as well as vintage quilt patterns. With our Aunt Grace "Circle of Friends" BOM program, we've had many people interested in these 1930's fabrics. If you are an Aunt Grace lover, this book is a must for your quilting library. I just had to read the Green Eggs and Ham Cookbook to figure out how they make those green eggs! This book is a hoot and has surprisingly good recipes.
Marlene: With two little ones, all of the books I read lately have fewer than 50 pages, large print, and pictures! When I sew, I really appreciate patterns with good instructions, and the more visuals the better. I've been impressed with Kwik Sew patterns because they clearly explain things I don't know how to do. Many of these patterns have multiple sizes in one pattern, so I can use them again and again. The Kwik Trace product is ideal for copying off the size you need without destroying the pattern for future use. I was very happy with the outcome and my 2-year-old daughter loves her new clothes! See Hannah in her new Easter dress below.
