Panels!
We just love panels! Our store features panels hanging everywhere…from the walls, the ceilings, and our famous Panel Wall filled with individually packaged panels for “grab and go”. Be sure to check out our coordinating fabrics for your panels.
Panels generally come in the following sizes:
23 1/2" x 44" (cotton and flannel panels)
35 1/2" x 44" (cotton and flannel panels)
27" x 35 1/2" (large batik panels)
What if you don't know what you want to do with your panel? Here are some suggestions for yardage:
For 3 simple borders, choose 1/4 yard, 1/2 yard, and 3/4 yard of three different fabrics. Here's what you can do with this:
* 1st border = 1/4 Yard will allow 1 1/2 inch up to a 2 1/4 inch border
* 2nd border = 1/2 Yard will allow anything up to a 4 1/2 inch border (you may need to piece)
* 3rd border = 3/4 Yard will allow anything up to a 4 inch border and also give you enough for 4 strips of 2 1/2 inch binding. If you want a wider outside border, get 1 Yard of fabric.
* If you would like a different fabric binding, 1/2 yard will be enough.
For a simple pieced border in strips, choose 6-8 Fat Quarters or 1/4 yard cuts to coordinate with the panel. For binding, 1/2 yard will be fine.
