X-Blocks - Dancing Stars
Marsha's Notes: This is one of my favorite patterns, as there is so much you can do with it! Here's a quilt in progress using a panel for the centers and 1930s for the star points. In this quilt, I am laying out the pattern so that the stars are in rows. The finished quilt will be 3 rows across by 4 rows down.
Any size X-Blocks ruler can be used. For the quilt shown, I used the 6 1/2" size ruler as the panel of Sunbonnet Sues had 6 1/2" squares. All of the examples on this page use the 6 1/2" ruler, and the blocks are 18" finished. Scroll down for more examples.
The rulers are shown in the suggested products section below.
Here's another version I'm doing. This time I've used Batik 5 1/2" mini-panels, and added coping strips to fill out the center.
Here's another way to connect the dancing star blocks. In this version, I used various 6" blocks for the centers of the stars.
